As a young boy Zane played “cowboys and Indians” with cap guns and when a little older he played “cops and robbers” with long wooden rubber guns.

These games were fun for all of the young kids. Little did Zane know that when he was 19 years old, he would be an infantryman in France, Germany and Belgium in World War II facing a determined enemy who was tough in defending his position.
